Before you go

Every casino here checks government photo ID at the door, and the minimum age depends on the province. Decide on a budget before you arrive, treat it as the cost of a night out, and leave the cards at home. If gambling stops feeling like entertainment, free and confidential help is a phone call away.

How we rank

Only properties where the hotel and the casino share the same resort or are connected indoors make the list. Facts come from each operator's published information and were last checked in October 2026. No resort paid to be included or to move up.

  1. 01

    The hotel

Room count, suite options, and whether the rooms are worth the stay on their own.

  2. 02

    The gaming floor

Size and variety: slots, live table games, poker and high-limit areas.

  3. 03

    Food and drink

A real restaurant line-up, from a late steakhouse dinner to a quick bite.

  4. 04

    Entertainment

A proper showroom or theatre with touring headliners, not just a lounge stage.

  5. 05

    The trip

How easy the resort is to reach from the nearest city and airport.

  6. 06

    The extras

Spa, pool, golf, views and anything that makes the weekend more than a casino visit.

Frequently asked questions

Which casino hotel in Canada has the most rooms?

Of the resorts in this guide, Caesars Windsor is the largest, with 758 rooms across its Augustus and Forum towers. Parq Casino in Vancouver comes next with 517 rooms in its two Marriott hotels.

What is the minimum age to enter a casino in Canada?

It depends on the province: 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec, and 19 everywhere else. Bring government-issued photo ID. Security checks it at the casino entrance even if you are a hotel guest.

Do I have to stay at the hotel to visit the casino?

No. The gaming floors, restaurants and showrooms are open to any visitor of legal age. Staying over just means the shortest walk home after a late show or dinner.

Which of these resorts have First Nations ties?

Since June 2026, River Rock belongs to a partnership led by the Snuneymuxw First Nation's Petroglyph Development Group with Musqueam Capital. Casino Rama stands on the lands of the Chippewas of Rama First Nation.

Did any of these resorts pay to be included?

No. Placement is our own editorial judgement, based on the hotel, the gaming floor, dining, entertainment and ease of travel. We are not affiliated with any of the resorts listed.

Where can I get help if gambling stops being fun?

Every province runs a free, confidential helpline. You will find the number for each province in this guide in the Before you go section. Casinos also offer voluntary self-exclusion programmes; ask any security or guest services desk.
